This is The Blues Joint Project band performing Hey Bartender at the Blues History & Performance workshop & concert held at the UST Conservatory of Music. I believe this is just one of a series of events to be conducted by the group to promote Blues music appreciation to Filipinos especially the younger generation. Hats off to the the organizers for unselfishly sharing their time and effort for this "noble cause." That's right ladies and gentlemen, TomCat's got a new site up, and this time he's expanding the horizon a bit, covering Blues happenings in Philippines and the whole of Asia. Summarizing the concept and goal of this project, Tom states, "Blues Asia aims to draw the Asian blues community – musicians and fans – closer together. We’ll search out where to find each other. We’ll chat in our forum, We’ll share our recommendations about the best blues tutorials on the internet." Visiting the the site for the first time, one could see an unassuming front page - the only image is that of Binky Lampano with his signature "grimace" and a lone video of the vintage JDLC. But don't let this look fool you! The site certainly packs a wallop with a host of features including a blog, tutorials (Blues harp) and most impressive is a Blues forum where members could interact with one another. Great news for all Lampano Alley fans all over the world! The best Pinoy Blues band has a newly built website where everyone can get the latest news and updates. Included are the band's history, personal info of the members, picture gallery, and several videos of their live performances. Missing though are the "Concert In The Park" clips. A new dawn is dawning! There's a movement being spearheaded by Tomcat Colvin to bring back the glory days of Pinoy Blues. Called the Blues Joint Project , it aims to build a vibrant blues audience in the Philippines (and Southeast Asia) and to elevate the musical standards of individual blues musicians and bands. Aside from providing links to the best free online blues tutorials for musicians who wish to improve their skills and understanding of the blues, pointing out venues where blues fans can find live blues, as well as the radio programs that prominently feature blues, doing reviews of individual bands and musicians, the ultimate goal will be to unite all Blues musicians and fans throughout the country.

Don't consider yourself a true Pinoy Blues fan if you have no idea who Tom Colvin is. Well for those who need some answers - he's the American guy who did the blues harp chores for the legendary band Lampano Alley.
