Blues Joint Project Clinic at University of Santo Tomas

This is The Blues Joint Project band performing Hey Bartender at the Blues History & Performance workshop & concert held at the UST Conservatory of Music. I believe this is just one of a series of events to be conducted by the group to promote Blues music appreciation to Filipinos especially the younger generation. Hats off to the the organizers for unselfishly sharing their time and effort for this "noble cause." Bisaya Blues by Silhouette

Listen to this blazing guitar solo by Rey of Silhouette Band. "Silhouette Band - Greater Toronto/Brampton's band, who's members mostly hailed from Cebu originally. This group plays classic & contemporary songs from rock to pop music. Composed of brothers; Rey & Noel Mapeso, Alex & Dale Tecson and vocalist; Andrew Mission and Vonnie. Rey Mapeso (shown above at center) used to play with the Nightshift Band and also was alternating with the Firelights Band in 1986-87. Both bands were regulars at the Cebu Plaza Hotel at Nivel Hills."

Binky Lampano

Image
The original Filipino wailer! I remember watching Binky Lampano's band on TV years back (Lampano Alley). It was a series of performances titled "Concert at the Park." Luckily I was able to catch a glimpse of those. Binky's voice stood out, always did. Even though he had a tight band which included the great Tom Colvin on harp, still it was Binky who gave the group its soul. Probably, he IS the reincarnation of a long-gone blues singer from Mississippi. The group has since disbanded, I've read that Binky is now based abroad.
