Another great night of Blues in Cebu! Here's deltaslim, Kento Ido, Noli Aurillo, (i think) one cool dude doing the Blues harp, and the rest of the gang doing an upbeat number during the Cebu Guitar Festival.

With the passing of NU107's Crossroads comes the next generation of Pinoy Blues artists - and they're getting younger every minute! Here is 14-year-old IdoKento with Manny Amador of The Breed fame doing a Jimi Hendrix classic at The Outpost, Cebu. More info about the band on my next posts.

After a long, long wait, I finally got to see Delta Slim's Cebu gig. Wish I'd seen this live though. Also in this video, Delta Slim's new Harana acoustic guitar had its debut and we can see what an outstanding instrument it truly is. (I can hear Boss Anot in the background excitedly commenting as well as the appreciative Cebuano crowd roaring at the end of each number.) Again, another great performance from a great Blues man.

One of the most recognizable Blues pieces ever, "Hey, Hey!" was originally done by Big Bill Broonzy and remade by countless other artists including Eric Clapton. Never mind the guy-with-shade's crappy singing, learn this lesson by heart and have another great addition to your Blues guitar lick arsenal!

This could be the first Pinoy Blues supergroup! (Cuarenta y Uno?) Deltaslim will be jamming with Cuarenta in what will surely be an unforgettable night of Blues. No entrance fee, no exit fee either! Enjoy The Outpost's ice cold beer and reasonably low-down-priced goodies. Man, wish I could be there!!!

Well, well, who wouldn't want a freebie? Unfortunately for me, this one's for Linux. Surely a nice toy for all Linux users out there. I haven't tried this for obvious reasons so use this at your own risk! I wonder if this can be used for Blues harp... hope someone could fill us up on this one. Here's gotmojodante's interpretation of the classic Gary Moore tune, Still Got the Blues. A little tight in the beginning but gets it all going in the mid and later parts. A true example of the adage, "less is more" where emotion rather than speed, matters.

Another Christmas song from Sam Myers featuring Lowell Fulson. From Wikipedia: Lowell Fulson (March 31, 1921 – March 7, 1999[1]) was a big-voiced blues guitarist and songwriter, in the West Coast blues tradition. Fulson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also recorded for business reasons as Lowell Fullsom and Lowell Fulsom. After T-Bone Walker, Fulson was the most important figure in West Coast blues in the 1940s and 1950s.[2]

This is a very informative and interesting albeit short documentary about the Blues and its influence on Filipino Blues artists.
